About this experience

Deventer made its money on the IJssel and spent it on churches, a weigh house and a gingerbread whose recipe has been kept for six centuries. The walk starts on the Brink, the largest market square in the Netherlands, at the Waag. Geert Grote was born here in 1340 and left a school of thought that remade European teaching. Lebuïnuskerk is the Gothic crown. Bergkerk was consecrated in 1206. The Bergkwartier still has the cobbles and step gables of a Hanseatic town. Nine stops, finishing back on the Brink.
