Brussels Heritage Walk: Art Nouveau, Horta and Hankar, Self-Guided App Tour
1 hour and 21 minutes

About this experience
In 1893 two architects working on neighbouring streets rebuilt the Brussels townhouse in iron and glass. Paul Hankar put up his own house on Rue Defacqz that year, and Horta finished the Hôtel Tassel a few streets away, where the stair hall is flooded with light and the ironwork is left on show. The walk runs from Defacqz down Avenue Louise past the Solvay house, built with almost no budget limit, and into Saint-Gilles for Horta's own home and workshop on Rue Américaine, now the Horta Museum. Twelve stops, about 4.6 km. How it works This is a self-guided digital walking tour in the StepQuests mobile app. There is no live guide.
