Teotihuacán in 3D: See the City as It Was in 450 CE, Plus a Self-Guided Audio Walk
3 hours

About this experience
At its height Teotihuacán was home to perhaps 100,000 people. Today it is bare stone. This experience puts the city back: hold up your phone in the Plaza of the Moon and a time wave turns the ruins into the plaza as it stood around 450 CE, painted red, ringed by its thirteen platforms and filled with a festival crowd. Walk the plaza, jump between the walk's stops, and tap any building for what stood there, what is there today, and how we know. At the site, your camera becomes the window. Anywhere else, the 3D city opens straight away, so it works before your visit to plan it or after to remember it. Your ticket also includes the self-guided audio walk of the site: 12 stops along the Avenue of the Dead, from the Temple of the Feathered Serpent to the Pyramid of the Moon, in English or Spanish, at your own pace. The reconstruction follows the excavated footprints of the buildings; heights, colours, the festival and the people are interpretation, and the experience says which is which.

Please note
To start, enter the ticket code from your confirmation at https://roamer.travel/redeem, before you set off while you still have signal. Everything opens in your phone browser; there is no app to download. Open the 3D view once on wifi before you go: it is a large download, and signal on the site can be weak. At the site it works best with the phone held up at eye level in the Plaza of the Moon. Away from the site, it opens straight into the 3D city. The reconstruction is an interpretation: the buildings follow their excavated footprints, while heights, colours, the festival and the people are reconstructed from murals and excavation reports. Climbing the pyramids is not allowed at present. Stay off the structures and behind the ropes. Bring a charged phone; earphones for the included audio walk. Public transportation nearby
